Hey chuck this is james. I met you at the vibe session that you
gave at West Chester University in march 13 of this year. I attend
West Chester U and throughout the three years I have been
there that was the only event I have attended other than my
graduation. It is also difficult when a person like me who lives
two minutes into the burbs from philly who has to travel 45
minutes to West chester every day on the septa bus
transportation. Your speech I mean your vibe session was very
inspirational, because everything you said I believe everyone felt
but we couldn't find the words to express it for ourselves the way
you so easily did. I truly beleive that the internet is the future and
record companies are fearful of its power. I know many people
who have great songs that they want to put out but they feel the
only way they could get to where they want to be is to push it
through some company that will take only a milla second to
decide if thats what they are looking for or getting it through a
radio station. Well common sense should tell everyone that
there is an unlimited amount of people who can get to hear your
music through the web by creating your own site and in a sense
just like you said create your own label. I just graduated this past
month majoring in bus man with only two summer courses left
to take, my true passion and dream has and always will be to do
documentaries on subjects and issues that I am passionate
about. With technology advancing as far as it is (broadband) I
see this as a easy transition to get my work online or maybe
through rap station.com I was wondering if you can offer any
advice. Ok I have to end this its getting too long. So thanks for
your time Chuck and if you get a chance to read this you can
email me back when you have time, by the way I can truly relate
to going home hungry and deciding whether or not to go burger
king or being stranded out in West Chester. Thanks Chuck
peace.
OF COURSE RAPSTATION IS ALWAYS AN OPTION AVAILIABLE
TO SHOWCASE YOUR WORK AND ALL YOU NEED IS A
CAMERA TO DO THE DOCUMENTARIES...THE BIZ DEV HEAD
AT RAPSTATION IS LATHAN HODGE... lhadji@rapstation.com

when i met you after your talk in edinburgh you said that PE is
gonna tour, dont you think its about time you hit Scotland, i mean
it was 95 when you were last here with PE, and i for one am not
happy with that and i can name other people who arent probably
the same 2 thousand who was there in 95 at the Barrowlands, I
know your one of the few artists who actually do have time for the
fans but i mean come on 7 years with no PE in Scotland, I read
your book also man, thoroughly enjoyed it man

mean i realise you all got other countries that your trying to take

im a young hip hop DJ with 2 questions to ask,
1~ wot is your opinion of the latest american hip hop acts and
their lyrical content, do u think they deserve the spotlight instead
of other artists who r surly not worthy of there claim to fame, such
as eminem.
I THINK THAT THE WORLD IS DEEP WITH EQUAL TALENT AND
IT SHOULD BE CHECKED OUT... I THINK THAT THE AMERICAN
ARTISTS ARE TRYING TO ALL DO THE SAME THING TO
REMAIN PAID, WHERE BEFORE PAID WAS ONLY AN
AFTERTHOUGHT. THERE'S ALSO 3 AREAS OF HIP HOP 1.
MAINSTREAM COMMERCIAL 2. UNDERGROUND 3.
INTERNET ARTISTS
2~ have u heard any British acts and wot are your views on
them.
FOR YEARS I'VE SUPPORTED UK ARTISTS AND THERE'S NO
DIFFERENCE NOWADAYS... IT'S JUST THAT THE FOCUS
NEEDS TO BE ON INVADING OTHER AREAS OF THE WORLD
AS OPPOSED TO THE STATES AND THE UK ALONE... THATS
THE ADVANTAGE OF UK RAP ARTISTS...THEY'RE CLOSER TO
EUROPE...
i look forward to your reply

March, so I hope to see you there. I need a small favor.
Remeber when you said that rap was founded on the principles
of dancehall. What was the name of the guy you said started it.
My friend who wasn't at your discussion has a hard time
believing me. So holla back aight.

COOL HERC WAS THE DJ WHO MOVED FROM JAMAICA IN
1969 AND INFLUENCED HIP HOP AS WELL WITH THE SAME
TECHNIQUES THAT WERE PREVALENT WITH JAMAICAN DJS.
USING 2 TURNTABLES A MIXER AND A MIKE..
LATER KRS-ONE IN THE 80S WAS JUST AS INFLUENTIAL IN
SPREADING NEW VIBES ACROSS AMERICA AND THE WORLD
WITH THE DEEP ROOTS IN REGGAE....

I know you have been told before, but I just read your piece from
Sept. 15... And I'm speechless. You basically organized my
confused emotions. All the feelings of sorrow I had when the

car on the road I saw had American flags on them. I just had a
conversation (more of an argument) w/ a white person who
couldn't understand why I wouldn't fight or die for this country. As
I told him "Being a Black man, I've been at war since I was old
enough to be considered a threat". I am not going to die for this
country, I might be killed by this country, but there is nothing I can
do about that. I just wanted to thank you for your enlightenment.
Much love, Damon Goodrum Seattle WA.
P.S. I saw ya'll when you guys were at the E.M.P., that was the
best live show I've seen in years. After 15 years ya'll still know
how rock the crowd... amazing.

What's up Chuck? just wanted to thank you for coming out to
speak at RIT. For a college university, a surprisingly low amount
of knowledge is passed around on a daily basis, so it was
definitely nice to have you come and drop knowledge. I've been
rapping for about 3 or 4 years, and submerged myself in the
culture ever since i was a little kid. Even so, I've never really tried
to (don't really want to) "get on", so I didn't know a lot about the
history of the music industry, and more specifically, the rap
industry. Just wanted to thank you and say it's nice to see you're
still an embassador of hip hop to this day. peace...
