“Shocking the music scene with their first official studio album back in 1987, Yo! Bum Rush The Show, the group’s mix of hardcore rock and hip hop production was unlike anything [music had] ever seen before."

Upheld as one of hip-hop’s earliest socially conscious groups, Public Enemy’s debut record took to account the harsh realities among black communities to the mic. In essence, Yo! Bum Rush The Show sparked a new wave of politically-charged music both from Public Enemies and the laundry list of new artists flocking to the sub genre.
