Upheld as one of hip-hop’s earliest socially conscious groups, Public Enemy’s debut record took to account the harsh realities among black communities to the mic. In essence, Yo! Bum Rush The Show sparked a new wave of politically-charged music both from Public Enemies and the laundry list of new artists flocking to the sub genre.
