I stand at attention for a man i have the utmost respect and admiration for. This was more than a politician, this was a man who was not afraid to take an unpopular stand for what he felt was right. I take offense to the headlines that said he was an anti war critic, He was an anti lie critic. His speaking out about the war gave a voice to all of us war veterans who did not want to see our young men & women being subjected to a brutal life for reasons other than the protection of our country. He is a war veteran and he & all war veteran have earned the right (just like everyone likes to hear former athletes opinions about their sport) to give their opinion on something that will always dominate how they live their lives. Let us stand tall for what is a rarity in these media dominated political times, A man who speaks his mind on what he believes is right and refused to let others shape his opinion or belief system for him. |
